Industrial Training Institute, Kubernagar is located in industrialized city of Ahmedabad . It is well connected by road, rail and air. ITI-Kuberanagar was established in 1957 with initial intake capacity of 96 seats in seven trades. The Institute is spread over 16 acres of land and has developed beautiful green cover with gardening and good frontage. It houses besides Administrative block consisting around 70 Theory Rooms, seven workshops and hostel to accommodate around 100 trainees. Institute has well equipped library, sports and recreation facility and canteen facility.

The Institute imparts training in 31 National level courses under the aegis of National Council Of Vocational Training (NCVT). The total sanctioned seats in these trades are 2504. Institute has 10 State Level Courses with seating capacity of 352 under Gujarat Council Of Vocational Training (GCVT). Mainly to meet local demand., apart from regular courses the Institute conducts the short term courses for weaker section of society, School drop outs, for informal sector and tailor made courses as per requirement of industry. Institute conducts such training in more than 60 different trades. Institute also provides training on Course on Computer Concept (CCC) and is an examination Centre for this course which is now compulsory for Government Employees.

With a view to prepare trainees with the multi-skill ability to carry out various jobs related to production and manufacturing sector and to churn out globally competitive work force, Institute has established CoE for production and manufacturing sector with the intake capacity of 96 seats. Industry is one of the important stake holders in the vocational training system. Closer interaction between industry and institute is very vital for reducing the gap between expectation of industry and out put of the institute. It is also essential for determining present and future requirements in terms of skill and knowledge contains visualizing new emerging areas and future planning for the institute. Industrial Training Institute, Kubernagar has developed sound framework for closer Industry – Institute interaction vide constituting Institute Management Committee (IMC). Institute Management Committee consist of five members from industries including Chairman from the industry and a representative of Industry Association and five members from the Government which includes important stake holders like training, faculty member, Local Employment Exchange and Principal of the Institute. Institute Management Committee is empowered for selection of the trainees, deciding on specification and purchase of the machinery, faculty development including training and retraining of the faculties, undertaking revenue generation activities, arranging workshop seminars and industrial visits, starting new trades and deletion of the obsolete trades, revamping syllabi etc. IMC at Kubernagar has contributed significantly in establishing COE – Production and Manufacturing Sector arranging workshops and seminars, donation of equipments industrial visits and placement of trainees.

Institute has Quality Management System (QMS) in place as per the international standard. Institute has obtained ISO 9001-2000 certification from TUV - Nord which is one of the reputed certifying agency. Implementation of this Quality Management System help the trainees in acquainting themselves with the practices followed by industry. It also boosts confidence in trainees as well as industry while sourcing their manpower requirement. For the Institute, it has resulted in increase number of Campus Interviews and Placement of the passed out trainees of the Institute.

Institute provides congenial environment for the trainees to showcase their talent in other spheres of the life also. Blood Donation Camps, Sports Competition, Celebration of Dashera & Navratri Festival, Technical Quiz Competition etc. are regular features of the Institute.
